Printing Machine Water Tank Fluid Troubleshooting

Exploration of common problems with printing machine water tank fluid - Choosing the appropriate concentration of water tank fluid is based on the conductivity value. When the conductivity is too high, the ink will be difficult to dry, and when the conductivity is too low, it will be easy to stain the plate or accumulate ink. So you must try to find the appropriate conductivity value. After finding the concentration value, multiply the total water tank volume by the percentage to get the first addition amount. In addition, when the conductivity value changes by more than ±50~100, it needs to be corrected before it can continue to be used. At the same time, you also need to pay attention to the temperature in the water tank, because the temperature will affect the measured value of the conductivity.
It is generally recommended that the ideal printing water conditions are:
(1) The water quality needs to be soft water;
(2) Conductivity value 700~1300 (the conductivity value of water must be deducted);
(3) PH value 4.0~5.5;
(4) Water tank temperature is 5℃~15℃;
(5) The degree of emulsification is less than 35%;
(6) Alcohol IPA proportion 5%~15%;
(7) The concentration ratio of water tank liquid is 1.5%~2.5%.

Based on the above example, the total volume of the printing press water tank in the central printing laboratory is 80,000cc*2%=1,600cc. The conductivity value of the water tank fluid is maintained at 1,000 (1,095-92.5) ±100, and the PH value is approximately 5.0. In addition, we found that the pH value does not change significantly after the concentration of the water tank liquid is 3%, so it is not easy to detect whether the amount is appropriate. Moreover, some European water tank liquids add more buffers, whose function is to maintain the stability of the water tank liquid. The acidity will reduce the corrosion of the plate, which will cause problems when using the pH value to measure the concentration of the water solution.
